Members of the City Council

There are eight members in our city council who are selected by each of their own constituency through a popular, equal, direct and secret election, and their term is for four years.
The current eight members of our city council are made up of four representatives selected from Electoral District Ga(A), three representatives from Electoral District Na(B) and one representative selected through by-election.

Committees

We have standing committees and special committees in operation within our council in order to provide efficiency and expertise for the deliberation on our agenda. The special committees are established according to the decision made at the regular session of our city council in order for the deliberation of specific agenda such as disaster recovery measures, petitions, budget and accounts and ordinances.
The permanent special committees currently in operation include the Special Committee for the Inspection of Administrative Affairs and the Special Committee on Budget and Accounts.

Council Secretariat

The Council Secretariat comprises with the secretary general, advisors, the Proceedings Team and the Administrative Affairs Team, and the 17 secretariat staff members provide administrative supports for the members of our city council in various areas such as special event management, council building management, meeting arrangement and proceedings management.
